When lip fillers are administered correctly, they can offer a more contoured, more enhanced appearance. It’s a treatment that’s proving to be as appealing to millennial’s as well as to more mature audience, catering to both women and men.

It’s understandable that you might have some questions and reservations about the treatment – it does involve facial injections after all! To put your mind at ease, Thérapie Clinic has outlined what you can expect before, during and after the treatment:

Pre-treatment
All our treatments begin with a private consultation that includes a full facial assessment by our professional team. If treatment is deemed suitable, your areas of concern are discussed, options explored, and a personal treatment plan decided. Now’s the time to ask any questions you have, to ensure you have a full understanding of the treatment.

At your lip fillers appointment
At your first lip filler appointment, you’ll complete a medical consent form and pre-treatment photos are taken to track your results. Immediately after the consultation, the treatment can commence. The procedure itself is quite straightforward and takes only minutes. A fine needle is used to inject your lips with the filler.

Your doctor will then talk you through the procedure before starting. It’s normal to feel a little nervous – eat and hydrate before arriving to help reduce any butterflies you might have. At Thérapie Clinic patient care is always to the forefront of all our procedures and we will ensure that your treatment is as comfortable as possible. All our lip fillers contain a local anesthetic; however, during the procedure itself clients may experience some mild discomfort. This is only temporary, and your doctor will advise you on how to minimise this discomfort.

Immediately after the treatment
Your doctor will advise you fully of post-treatment advice at your consultation. After the treatment some common injection-related reactions might occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within 2 to 10 days.

Other guidelines to follow:

• Make-up must not be worn for 24 hours post treatment.
• Avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for 24 hours post treatment.
• Refrain from placing any pressure on the treatment area for the first week post treatment.
• Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds or extremes of heat or cold for 2 weeks post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong bruising and swelling.
• Swelling may worsen in the first 24 hours. Visible swelling should settle within the first week post treatment. Cold packs can be helpful in reducing swelling. As a consequence of swelling and internal healing the product may feel harder or lumpy and you may notice some asymmetry. The final result may be assessed 4 weeks post treatment.
• Arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising.
• Avoid Ibuprofen and alcohol for 24-48 hours post treatment to reduce bruising and swelling.
• Tenderness should settle as swelling goes down and bruising heals over the course of 4 weeks post treatment.
• Do not have dental work for 4 weeks post Dermal Filler treatment.
• Do not have invasive laser or skin treatments in the same area as your Dermal Filler treatment for 4 weeks post treatment.

It is very important that you contact Thérapie Clinic immediately if you experience intense pain, mottling (fishnet stocking pattern) or discoloration of the skin in the area or surrounding area of your dermal filler treatment immediately post or in the days post treatment. Thérapie Clinic will inform your treating Medical Professional so that they can contact you, advise you and if necessary, arrange to see you again to address and resolve the issue.

From then on …
A huge advantage of lip fillers is that the results are long lasting but not permanent. Your lips can be altered over time in order to maintain the desired appearance. On average each treatment lasts 6 months.

After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. Your doctor will give you more information during your consultation.

As we enter a new decade, full of new opportunities and change, isn’t it time you said goodbye to razors for good? Stop surrendering your spare change to the shackles of shaving once for and for all, and say hello to laser hair removal at Therapie Clinic, Europe’s number one aesthetics clinic.

Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way of removing unwanted hair, permanently. The way it works is simple. Light is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser’s light energy heats the pigment and destroys the hair follicle. It only affects the specific structures of the hair and follicle, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

Thérapie Clinic only use medical grade lasers, the most advanced technology available, which safely deliver superior results and faster treatment times.

Guaranteed results
Thérapie Clinic can guarantee successful results. Although we recommend a course of six treatments, a significant difference will be apparent after just two or three. Our experienced therapists will consider your skin and hair type before creating a personalised treatment plan.

Why do you need a course of treatment? It’s simple – you will need a course of treatments as laser only works on hair that is in the growth phase of the hair cycle, known as Anagen. The other two phases of the hair cycle, called Catagen and Telogen, mean the hair is either dormant or falling out; the laser doesn’t impact it.

As all your hair is in different phases at different times, you need several treatments spread out over several weeks to ensure the laser ‘catches’ the each of the hairs in their growth phase at some point.

Does laser hair removal hurt?
As with all treatments, it depends on the person and how sensitive they are, as well as the area being treated. We use Cynosure lasers, both of which have additional cooling devices to decrease sensitivity during treatment. The sensation is similar to an elastic band being snapped against your skin, and because the laser is moving all the time, the sensation is well-tolerated by most people. It’s advisable to avoid caffeine before your treatment as it can make your skin more sensitive. You can take a mild pain reliever (Paracetamol; NOT Ibuprofen as this also makes the skin sensitive).

Let’s be honest – when it comes to anti-aging measures, there’s only so far that a good night’s sleep can go. Sometimes, you need a little extra help to get you looking your fresh, glowy self beyond the limitations of lotions and potions.

The good news? You don’t have to resort to drastic measures to achieve that ‘lit-from-within’ look, and it won’t take you an age to get the results you want. FDA-approved Botox injections from Thérapie Clinic are an effective way of softening fine lines, wrinkles and revealing a fresher you at affordable prices.

What is Botox?
Botox is a trade name for a form Botulinum toxin, specifically botulinum toxin type A. This is a neurotoxin used in anti-wrinkle injections that blocks the signals between the nerves and the muscles, causing the muscles to relax. They reduce the appearance of lines to produce a look that is fresh, more youthful and, most importantly, natural.

How long does Botox last?
After the injections, you’ll notice your muscles slowly freeze up in a day or two with the full results appearing after a week. The line-smoothing effects of Botox typically last three to four months before gradually wearing off. If you love the results of your Botox, there’s only one thing that can truly extend its appearance: getting injections again and again.

How much do anti-wrinkle injections at Thérapie Clinic cost?
One treatment area starts at €145. If you fancy three areas of treatment, you get your third area for free at Thérapie Clinic.

Is Botox safe?
As with any drug or injectable treatment, Botox has its risks. However, most of the side effects are associated with the injection process itself, like bleeding, bruising, pain, swelling. The needle will leave tiny red spots that look like bug bites that usually disappear in the hours after your appointment.

To minimize risks, seek a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specialises in cosmetic injectables. The medical professionals at Thérapie Clinic will be able to advise you on the treatment needed to cater to your specific concerns, helping to achieve natural, beautiful results. Our team of medical professionals is led by surgeon, Paul Reddy. The team comprises of highly qualified experts who are deft in safely delivering anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. Their deep understanding of facial aesthetics in both women and men means they produce a look that is more youthful yet natural.

Avoid intense exercise like hot or aerial yoga for a day or two after the treatment. This will minimise the risk of the Botox migrating from the site of injection before it’s had a chance to settle.

What should I do before my appointment?
1. Make sure you’re adequately hydrated before getting your anti-wrinkle injections.
2. Pause whatever prescription topicals you’re using.
3. Avoid alcohol before your treatment.
